Selling Guide

Where we're located:

We are located in Hockessin, Delaware and typically work with consignors in the state of Delaware and Southern Chester County, PA. We also love working with consignors who are willing to travel, meet in the middle, or ship items to us.

What we sell:

Women's and men's designer + luxury items:
Clothing
Shoes
Handbags
Accessories (belts, hats, scarves)
Jewelry (includes Sterling and 10K/14K/18K scraps)

Home Goods:
Items that are easy to ship (20 lb. or less) and have a popular/designer/luxury label, for example Pottery Barn.

Collectibles:
Vintage or modern collectibles that could include anything from vintage Christmas ornaments to jewelry boxes.

Toys:
Vintage or modern toys, for example (Legos, American Girl, train sets, Monster High, Barbie, GI Joe, Star Wars, etc).

What we don't sell:

Children's clothing and shoes (unless high-end designer)
Pre-owned undergarments and bathing suits
Certain brands (see the list here)

Where we sell it:

We sell on eBay, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark, and here on The House of Gigi.

How we price our items:

We use our 20+ years of expertise to price our items based on the item's condition, age, and current value in the resale market (in the past 90 days).

How much we pay our consignors:

We pay our consignors 50% of the item's final selling price. We retain 50% for our time/labor (to photograph, list, store, and mail the items) as well as to pay marketplace fees and shipping.

Can we buy your items outright?

Yes! We have had clients who don't want to wait for their items to sell on consignment before getting paid. We are happy to offer a complete buy-out price estimate.

Can we pick up your stuff for consignment?

We can pick up a carload of things you want to sell for a nominal pickup fee which will be estimated after a consultation.
